Hospital Ultrasound Machine

Ultrasound machines use sound waves to create images of the inside of the body. Ultrasound machines are used to diagnose the causes of pain, swelling and infection in internal organs of the body and to examine the fetus of pregnant women, the brain and hips of babies. It is also used for the administration of biopsies, the diagnosis of heart problems and the evaluation of damage caused by heart attacks. Ultrasound is safe, non-invasive and does not involve the use of ionizing radiation.

The basic ultrasound machine consists of the following components.

Transducer probe. This is a probe that sends and receives sound waves

Central Processing Unit (CPU). This is the computer that performs all calculations and contains the power supply for itself and the transducer probe

Transducer pulse control. This changes the amplitude, frequency and duration of the pulses released by the transducer probe

This shows an image of the ultrasound data processed by the CPU

Keyboard/Cursor. This helps to enter data and make measurements from the screen

Disk storage device (hard disk, floppy, CD) - stores the acquired images

Printer prints the images based on the displayed data
